About the role:
Based in Cambridge, UK, this is an exciting opportunity to join an international Editorial team publishing a number of leading academic journals.
Your focus will be on journals in the Physical and Engineering Sciences. Working within a dedicated team, you will lead the development of the journals, overseeing some of the budgeting and commissioning activities as well as supporting our new acquisitions and new and existing launches. You will liaise with both external contacts (Editors-in-Chief, their Editorial Boards, Society representatives) and internal colleagues (Editorial, Production, Marketing, Platform, Customer Services, Finance).
This role is ideal for an experienced, superbly structured and well-organised individual with an obsession for information gathering, excel spreadsheets, data management, accuracy, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of open access and the changing landscape in publishing. There will also be opportunities for conference attendance, and to learn more about the areas in which we publish.
The Physical Sciences team sits within a highly collaborative group of Journal Editorial colleagues, and is encouraged to develop a broader understanding of new publishing initiatives, both Cambridge and broader industry led, in this fast-evolving subject area.
• Experience of working in an STM publishing environment

• Preferably physical or engineering sciences degree backgrounds
• Proven project management competencies
• The strategic, commercial and relationship skills needed to manage a high-profile portfolio
