The Medical Faculty of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, University Hospital, Center of pediatrics, invites applications for the following position as civil servant or public employee, starting 01 April 2021:

Professorship (W3) for Pediatrics

The holder of the position will be the director of the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research and teaching. You must be ""Facharzt für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin "" with strong clinical and management experience and an internationally recognized scientific profile and teaching record.

The Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at Goethe University has an international recognized Pediatric Oncology and Stemcell Transplantation center. For the complementary strengthening of the department you have preferable a scientific and clinical focus in one of the fields of intensive care medicine, pediatric cardiology or neonatology. You need to develop further the interdisciplinary and cooperative contents and structures between all involved departments and institutes.

The responsibilities regarding clinical care will be regulated by a separate contract from the Universitaetsklinikum Frankfurt establishing a performance-based salary with constant and variable components.

Prerequisites for the application are a medical degree, teaching experience, doctorate, and habilitation or proof of equivalent scientific achievements, which may also have been made within the framework of a junior professorship or outside the university. The successful candidate should hold the German board certificate of “Facharzt für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin“. We are looking for a candidate with an internationally recognized research profile and documented success in the acquisition of external research funding. The applicant must be able to teach students and medical staff in German language.

The salary for the position is based on “W3” on the German university scale, including performance bonuses that are object of negotiation.
