The Medical Faculty at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, the Cardio-Pulmonary Institute (CPI), invites applications for the following position as public employee:
Professorship (W3) for Vascular Metabolism
The CPI is a joint research institute of the Goethe University Frankfurt, the Justus Liebig University Giessen and the Max Planck Society, supported by the Excellence Strategy of the German Research Foundation. The CPI strives to make groundbreaking contributions to cardiopulmonary science with the long-term goal of reducing morbidity and mortality in cardiopulmonary diseases.
The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding track record in vascular biology and specifically the metabolic control of cardiovascular homeostasis and disease. A tight interaction with the other groups within the center is expected. The professorship will be located at the “European Cardiovascular Science Center” at the Goethe University and will have full access to all core-facilities within the CPI including next generation sequencing, proteomics, bioinformatics, cytometry, microscopy, and small animal imaging.
Prerequisites for the application are a university degree, teaching experience, doctorate, scientific achievements such as habilitation or comparable scientific achievements at a non-university institution. The acquisition of extramural funding and leadership experience is desirable.
The salary for the position is based on “W3” of the German university pay scale, including performance bonuses, that are object of negotiation.
