The Faculty of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for a
Professorship (W2, tenure track) of Pharmaceutical Chemistry with specialization in Pharmaceutical Analytics
The initial tenure track appointment as Professor (civil servant or public employee) is for six years (§ 64 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Hessen (HHG)). Upon positive evaluation, the incumbent will be promoted to a permanent position at a higher level (W3).
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate working in the field of Pharmaceutical Analytics. The ideal candidate should have a track record in obtaining independent research funding and a strong publication record in pharmaceutical / biomolecular analytics. A specialization in high-end mass spectrometry (method development and/or novel analytical applications) as well as teaching experience in Pharmaceutical Chemistry are preferable.
The candidate is expected to complement the given expertise at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and at the Faculty. Ideally, your scientific focus allows linkages to topics as lipid, ubiquitin and oncogenic signalling, signalling aspects in inflammation, cardiovascular disease and structural mechanisms regulating membrane proteins, macromolecular complexes and RNA. The willingness to work closely with other experimental working disciplines in the faculty as well as cooperation in existing or planned research networks are strongly desirable.
The successful applicant will manage the faculty’s mass spectrometry service unit. A pharmaceutical licence (Approbation) is desirable.
The designated salary for the position is based on the German university pay scale or equivalent.
