In accordance with § 94 Sec. 2 subpara. 1 of the 2002 Austrian Universities Act, the Johannes Kepler University Linz announces an opening for a University Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
The Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a tenured position under private law for a
Professor of Biochemistry
to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act. An evaluation will be conducted after a five-year period.
We are looking for a scientist who has an outstanding international reputation in the field of macromolecular structural biochemistry. The thematic research focus should be on a current topic in the area of macromolecular structural biochemistry such as – but not limited to – cellular transporters and channels, de novo design of biomacromolecules, as well as dynamics and interactions of membrane proteins and enzymes.
The desired methodological focus lies in the field of structural analysis methods preferably for non-crystalline systems.
The successful applicant will be expected to hold university-level biochemistry courses as outlined in the corresponding curricula for academic degree programs in Biological Chemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry and Chemical Technology, and Molecular Biology.
Applicants for the position must have a venia docendi (habilitation degree) or a comparable post-doctorate qualification in biochemistry or a closely related academic field. Please see: http://www.jku.at/professuren for a detailed job description.
An annual gross salary above the minimum amount of € 71,822.80 as stated in the collective agreement will be offered.
