Salary: Highly competitive salary depending on experience, with extensive benefits

C4X Discovery is currently looking to extend its drug discovery team with an experienced, highly motivated Principal Bioscientist with industry experience in the field of Inflammation research to enhance the capability of the team as its drug discovery portfolio grows under C4XD’s Drug Discovery Engine business model. This is an exciting time to join the company following the recent announcement of an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Sanofi, worth up to €414 million, for C4XD’s oral pre-clinical IL-17A inhibitor programme.
You will work in an office-based environment evaluating new targets to add to our pipeline and work as part of multiple project teams to establish and manage the screening cascades for testing compounds both in vitro and in vivo conducted by our outsourcing partners.
Projects will be focused on delivering multiple pre-clinical candidates spanning different disease indications making this a diverse, fast moving and challenging opportunity for the right applicants. To succeed in this position, you will also require a high, proven level of self-motivation, flexibility and organisational skills. The role forms a key part of C4XD’s Discovery team located in either London or Manchester.
As part of this role, you will also have the opportunity to develop strategies to validate novel genetic targets identified though the proprietary Taxonomy3 platform in inflammatory disorders. You will work closely with the genetics and commercial teams to realise the transformative potential of this platform in these areas of unmet medical need.
We are looking for candidates with a Bioscience PhD and significant experience in all stages of drug discovery from Target Identification to Candidate Selection. Significant experience in the field of Inflammation Research is essential for this position ideally with knowledge of inflammatory diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to provide leadership to large, cross-functional or highly skilled projects and enable projects to succeed through effective goal setting and strategic planning. Application of expert knowledge in your area of specialism to directly influence multiple projects and making independent decisions which propel projects forward and enable goals to be met are a vital part of this role. As is the ability to identify potential solutions to more complex challenges and provide expert advice in order to facilitate project progression but also staff development.
