Applications are invited for a postdoc to join the group of Dr Kate McDole at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge, UK to work within a programme aimed at morphogenesis of the mammalian embryo. Specifically, to undertake research to investigate the role of mechanical forces in early organogenesis, namely the processes surrounding the establishment and formation of the foregut.

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant subject or be due to complete doctoral studies within 6 months of applying. Good computational skills are essential, as is familiarity with Fiji and/or basic image processing tools. Particularly useful would be experience in coding languages such as Python or MATLAB. Additionally, experience in light microscopy, mouse embryo dissection and culture, cell culture, and biophysical or biochemical techniques will be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be awarded a three year Career Development Fellowship / Postdoctoral training Scheme position. This is a training and development position for a post-doctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies, is moving into a new research discipline or has limited experience of key transferable skills.
