Postdoctoral scientist in cancer immunotherapy (PhD, MD, pharmacist, veterinarian or equivalent) (m/f/d)
Scope of the project:
We offer an exciting position in the field of tumor immunology in a highly clinically relevant research area. The focus of the Immunopharmacology group (head: Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kobold) is the development of new anti-tumoral immunotherapies. The postdoc will expand on a novel strategy to enable CAR-T cell therapy for solid tumors. This project will aim at further characterizing the strategy and preparing it to access industrial stages. The project is embedded in the doctoral program i‑Target (Immunotargeting of Cancer) of the Elite Network of Bavaria (www.immunotarget.de).
The Division of Clinical Pharmacology (director: Prof. Stefan Endres; www.klinische-pharmakologie.de) hosts doctoral students, physicians and postdocs in a young team at an internationally competitive level (Hornung et al. Science 2006; Poeck et al. Nat Med 2008; Hoffmann et al. J Hepatol 2014, Kobold et al., J Natl Cancer Inst 2015a and 2015b, Voigt et al., PNAS 2017; Karches et al., Clin Cancer Res 2019). The Division has full training capacities and clearance for the medical board specialities clinical pharmacology and immunology.
We are looking for competitive applicants with a doctoral degree (PhD or MD) from Germany or abroad with laboratory experience and a good publication record. Experimental skills and knowledge in immunology, biochemistry and cell biology as well as in vivo-models are desirable.
Starting from April 1st 2020 we offer a post-doc position for two years. The salary is based on the German public service scale taking into account the candidate’s background and experience (TV-L). This position will enable the development of a project that is clinical and industry oriented. A well-established network of academia and industry partners are set in place to develop this project.
