The Feldman lab (https://profiles.ucsf.edu/brian.feldman) at UCSF is looking for a talented postdoc to join our growing NIH funded laboratory. The overall goal of our research is to understand on both molecular and systemic levels how hormones regulate stem cell fate decisions. We use molecular biology, biochemistry, tissue culture and mouse models to elucidate the relevant pathways regulated by hormones in cell fate decisions. Our primary objective is to understand the relationship between the endocrine influence on stem cell fate and physiology and pathophysiology found in humans. In particular, we are focused on elucidating mechanisms that regulate adipogenesis and the implications of these mechanisms for the development obesity and metabolism
Candidates should be self-motivated and with a track record of high impact publications. Experience with adipose tissue biology as well as stem cell biology, molecular biology and mouse models are preferred. Experience with bioinformatics and FACS is desired.
Candidates should email a cover letter, CV and the contact information for three professional references to Brian.Feldman@ucsf.edu
