A NIDA-supported Postdoctoral Researcher position will be available in the Turner Laboratory at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. We are seeking neuroscientists/molecular biologists to assist with cell-type specific studies using pre-clinical models of drug addiction.

Our lab utilizes an integrative and interdisciplinary approach, combining neuroscience, genomics, and behavior. Therefore, successful candidates will be expected to participate in multiple projects studying cell-type specific genomic and functional changes following chronic nicotine and/or opioid exposure. Techniques acquired will include cell-type specific RNA-Seq, single-molecule FISH, cell-type specific CRISPR utilization, in vivo calcium imaging, and standard behavioral assays. The candidates will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biology or related fields, a strong background in neuroscience, and experience with molecular biology and/or electrophysiology. The candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be capable of working with large collaborative teams.
