The Oxford Vaccine Group is based within the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford and carries out research of major national and international importance in the field of infection and immunology. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated statistician/epidemiologist with an interest in meta-analysis, to join our team of clinicians, microbiologists, bioinformaticians, and statisticians. The postholder will focus on delivering a large individual participant data meta-analysis of pneumococcal vaccine clinical trials. This work will involve statistical analysis of antibody data from multiple clinical trials, and network meta-analyses. In addition, the post-holder will be responsible for drafting major peer-reviewed publications with the opportunity to lead as first author. Additionally there will be opportunity to attend training in methods for evidence synthesis and to work with senior collaborators who are leaders in this field.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline, excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and an interest in vaccines or infectious diseases.
This is a full-time post located at the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine at Churchill Hospital, Oxford and is offered for 2-years in the first instance. Part-time working arrangements will also be considered.
