The candidate will study immune effector mechanisms in neuro-inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS) and in experimental animal models. The project will be closely associated with a trans-regional Collaborative Research Center CRC128 Multiple Sclerosis (Centers: Münster, Mainz, Munich), ensuring high quality research and optimal networking both nationally and internationally.

The position is available from the earliest starting opportunity. Funding for an extension is available and extensions will be negotiated depending on the progress of the project.

Our lab has a long-standing expertise in a broad range of immunological approaches including genetically engineered mouse models, multi-color flow cytometry, T cell and brain slice culture, functional assays, protein biochemistry and a strong translational research focus working with human immune cells.

We expect a strong interest in Immunology and/or Neurobiology. Previous experience with flow cytometry, immunological assays, protein biochemistry, cell biology techniques and animal experimentation will be helpful.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with a clear dedication to research, excellent written and verbal communication skills and profound English knowledge. The applicant should be able to work independently, but also to be a team player and be willing to contribute to the team’s success.
