The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a world-leading internationally oriented research center, committed to discovering new approaches to prevent and treat neurodegenerative diseases. Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x)
to join the research group of Dr Melania Capasso.
The Capasso lab is interested in elucidating pathways regulating immune cell function, both in adaptive and innate immune cells, as well as their impact in human diseases.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated junior postdoc to study pathways altered in aged microglia and in microglia in brain cancer, with a special focus on the mTOR pathway and translation regulation. For background reading please see Keane et al. JCI, 2021.
The funding is part of a large consortium funded by DLR-PT, in order to study cancer from different perspectives and there will be many opportunities for networking with other biomedical scientists from different disciplines. The project will be developed in close collaboration with the group of Prof Paolo Salomoni, DZNE Bonn, working on their preclinical cancer models.
You are well-organized and pro-active. Furthermore, you have a PhD in a relevant biomedical subject with knowledge of animal models, preferably in the field of immunology and/or tumor biology. Showing initiative, flexibility, and ability to work well in a team will be essential skills.
