Asociación Anita in collaboration with Fundació Sant Joan de Déu (Barcelona, Spain) and the Amatruda Lab at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (California, USA) is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team.
The available position will focus on identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms leading to resistance of Germ cell tumors in children.
The position is fully funded for 6 years: the first 3 years of the project will take place at the Amatruda Lab in Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to study the mechanisms of resistance of Germ cell tumors in children. The following 3 years will take place in Barcelona as an independent investigator at he Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD) to continue the line of research on germ cell tumors.
The Amatruda laboratory at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in California is part of the University of Southern California (UCS) and focuses on pediatric solid tumors, with special focus on germ cell tumors. The work integrates animal models such as zebrafish and mouse genetic models, in vitro work, small-molecule screenings and high-resolution genomic studies of these cancers.
The Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu addresses research from the standpoint of the human development life cycle, directing research activity towards biological and psychological problems related to pediatric diseases and adult health problems which can originate and develop in childhood. The Institute was awarded with the “HR Excellence in Research” distinction by the European Commission in 2018.
Asociación Anita is a non-for-profit charity association created in 2014 with the objective to fund scientific research on germ cell tumors. Through multitude of charity events during the past years the association has already raised enough money to fully fund this 6 years project. (http://www.asociacionanita.org)
