Description: The Xuebing Wu laboratory in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Systems Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a motivated postdoctoral research scientist. The successful candidate will develop integrated genomic approaches to study the mechanisms of post-transcriptional gene regulation in human cells, including mRNA folding and translational regulation. Ideally, the candidate will have training and experience in molecular biology (cloning, next-generation sequencing, etc.) and mammalian cell culture. The postdoctoral period is for a minimum of two years and the candidate will be mentored towards an independent academic career. An ability to work independently as well as in a strong team-science environment is required. More information about the Wu laboratory can be found at

Minimum qualifications for Grade:
Applicant MUST meet this minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant:

Requires a PhD, MD-PhD or equivalent doctoral training completed within two years. Experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture.

Additional Position-Specific Qualifications:
Applicants meeting these qualifications are preferred:
Experience with RNA biology, molecular cloning, CRISPR/Cas, and genomics.
