The Hargus Lab in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University is looking for a highly motivated and driven postdoctoral research fellow with strong interest in stem cell biology, neural development and neurodegenerative diseases. We use differentiated human induced pluripotent stem cells to identify mechanisms leading to neuronal degeneration in frontotemporal dementia and Parkinson’s disease. This research project will include further refinement of stem cell differentiation techniques, application of in vitro disease modelling, and transplantation of differentiated stem cells. Career development including attendance at conferences is strongly supported. Successful applicants should have experience in stem cell biology and differentiation.
