Postdoctoral Research Position

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Inflammation and Tumorigenesis Section (ITS), Laboratory of Cancer Immunometabolism (LCIM), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Frederick, MD. It is highly recommended that the candidate has experience with cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, gene regulation, tumor microenvironment, microbiota, and signal transduction.

Our laboratory conducts research involving inflammation and infection associated lung and skin carcinogenesis. We use different genetic mouse models and analyze the mechanisms of carcinogenesis by utilizing molecular biological, immunological, genetic, epigenetic, and biochemical approaches. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or MD and are productive, highly motivated, and energetic individuals with less than two years of postdoctoral experience. Candidate must have excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. The LCIM is a multidisciplinary program of investigators with expertise in metabolism, cancer models, signaling, molecular biology, genetics, the microbiome, and inflammation, providing trainees with a broad range of collaborative training opportunities. This position is available spring/summer 2020 and candidates will be considered until the position is filled. The NCI-Frederick campus is located about 40 miles northwest of Washington, DC in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The campus houses scores of NCI principal investigators, state-of-the-art animal facilities, and the NCI mass spec, genetics, transgene, knockout, and germ-free cores, but is just minutes from recreational opportunities on the Appalachian Trail and the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers.
