Post-doctoral position available for highly motivated and creative candidate to join the Simon Powell Laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) for collaborative projects with the Sam Bakhoum Laboratory in the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program (HOPP) at MSKCC.
Candidates with a background in cell biology, tumor immunology, or biochemistry are highly encouraged to apply.
The Powell laboratory focuses on the basic and translational implications of DNA damage signaling and repair, while the Bakhoum laboratory focuses on understanding the role of chromosomal instability (CIN) in tumor evolution. The collaborative project will characterize the mechanisms by which DNA damage products extruded into the cytoplasm activate innate immune responses, in cells with varying levels of background CIN.
Approaches utilized will include high-resolution imaging, mouse models, single-cell genomics, molecular cloning, Next-Generation sequencing, and biochemical assays.
Postdoctoral researchers will have direct access to world-class animal and core facilities available at MSKCC. Furthermore, they will be part of a vibrant scientific environment fostered by collaborative efforts among the Tri-Institutions, which include the Rockefeller University and Weill Cornell Medicine. MSKCC offers subsidized housing in New York City, in addition to numerous resources for career development.
Candidates must hold a PhD., MD., or other equivalent doctoral degree and have strong laboratory and analytical skills.
All applications should be sent to email@example.com and include the following items merged as a single-PDF file:
1) Cover letter (3-page maximum) indicating current and future research interests and expected availability dates;
2) Curriculum Vitae;
3) Reprints of up to two publications (optional);
4) Name of three references
