We are now inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship at Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN), Linkoping University, Sweden.
The successful candidate will help lead a clinical trial investigating the effects of enhancing endocannabinoid signaling on treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This project will include neuroimaging, psychophysiology (e.g. facial electromyography), pharmacology, and exposure-based cognitive behavioral therapy. The position offers a unique opportunity to work at the exciting cross-section of clinical psychiatry and affective neuroscience, while contributing to the development of a novel treatment for PTSD.
The postdoc will work at CSAN with Drs. Markus Heilig and Leah Mayo. At CSAN, we offer an international, young research environment with regular seminars and invited guest speakers. We provide great research infrastructure, including the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization, with access to a dedicated research 3T Siemens scanner and access to additional cutting-edge techniques such as facial EMG, TMS, and EEG. The candidate will work closely with other lab members and supervise students and research assistants.
The fellowship will be available in summer 2020, though start date is somewhat flexible. The initial appointment is for one year, with the opportunity for renewal thereafter.
Qualifications: Candidates should have (a) a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, biology or biomedicine) by the start date; (b) a publication record that includes empirical data analysis.
Additional desirable skills are:
- prior experience with human neuroimaging or psychophysiology (e.g. facial electromyography), including data analysis
- prior experience with human pharmacology
- prior experience working with psychiatric populations and/or clinical trials,
- ability to work in a team, excellent interpersonal skills.
Appointment as a postdoc requires a PhD. Since this is part of an international recruitment program, the candidate must not hold Swedish citizenship or a Swedish PhD degree.
