Responsibilities

The Turtle Lab is looking for a post-doctoral research fellow who will work on independent and collaborative projects developing adoptive T cell immunotherapy for hematologic malignancies within the Program in Immunology and Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch. The successful applicant will employ strategies for genetic modification of human T cells to enable their expression of chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) and redirection of specificity to antigens expressed by hematologic malignancies. In vitro studies using human T cells and in vivo xenogeneic models will be used to develop and test novel T cell therapies that can be studied in future human clinical trials.

Qualifications

  • Applicants will have a PhD in a biological science and/or a MD
  • The ideal candidate will have a research background in immunology with robust skills in molecular and cellular biology, including lentiviral vector design and cloning, virus production, cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISPOT, and T cell cytotoxicity assays
  • To be successful in this position, the post-doctoral research fellow must be highly motivated to establish a career as a future independent investigator
