The Adair laboratory, housed within the Clinical Research Division, is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow or research associate to study blood cell gene therapy for genetic and infectious diseases and cancer. The post-doctoral fellow will investigate and develop methods to efficiently introduce genetic editing into stem cells and/or T cells and assess phenotypical and biological changes and performance in these cells. The fellow will work under the PI and other senior members of the research team and will be expected to publish and present their work in both internal and external events.


A PhD or MD in a scientific field is required. The individual must be highly motivated and able to work independently to design and execute experiments as evidenced by a publication record in virology/molecular biology. Must possess knowledge of advanced molecular biology skills, tissue culture, and viral assays. Experience with development of nanoparticle technologies for nucleotide and protein delivery to primary cells is highly desired. Experience in studies involving stem cell cultures, immunology, flow cytometry, animal models, and bioinformatics are also highly desired.
