A postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Molecular Metabolism and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, Minneapolis, USA. The laboratory focuses on understanding the role of adipose tissue in energy metabolism and metabolic healthspan, the novel mechanisms for the development of mitochondrial dysfunction and meta-inflammation in adipocytes during obesity and aging, and dietary interventions to expand metabolic healthspan. Experiments will involve genetically modified mice, omics technologies, confocal and electron microscopy imaging.
Applicants must have a PhD degree. Experience in the following fields is desired: energy metabolism and metabolic disease, cell cultures, basic molecular biology, immunology and immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and FACS, and mouse handling techniques.
