POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSCOCIATE IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS AND CATALYSTS
GRADE 7 (4 POSTS)
£34,805 – £40,322 pa
Four Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in organic synthesis and catalysis are available in the group of Professor John Bower. The roles are associated with a recently awarded ERC Grant (ChiCC) and the group’s imminent move to the University of Liverpool, where John will take up the Regius Chair of Chemistry. The group will be based in a fully refurbished and state of the art laboratory, which will be exceptionally well equipped for research.
You should have a PhD in organic chemistry, or a closely related area. You should have high-level skills in one or more of the following areas: synthetic methodology development, total synthesis, physical organic chemistry, catalysis. Experience in computational chemistry would also be beneficial. We seek motivated and skilled individuals who are prepared to take a leading role in advancing projects from both an experimental and intellectual standpoint.
The start date is 1 May 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter, and the positions are available for two years in the first instance. There is a possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement. Information about the Bower research group can be found at: bowerresearchgroup.wordpress.com/.
