This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious PhD-level graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a collaborative partnership with The University of Manchester and Cobra Biologics Ltd.

Cobra Biologics Ltd is internationally leading in the contract development and manufacturing of biologics and pharmaceuticals, specialising in the production of plasmid DNA and recombinant viral vectors for clinical use.

Through this Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), The University of Manchester and Cobra Biologics are looking to recruit a Research Associate to undertake this 24 month project which has an overall aim of increasing the capacity to manufacture viral vectors for use in gene therapy applications.

The position will provide you with a unique opportunity to engage in a unique programme with an innovative company pushing the boundaries of UK manufacturing in this thematic area. The combination of technologies (from academic and industry) requires an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who will drive the project as the interface between the University the company.

You will have successfully completed a PhD (or equivalent) in an area related to the project and have exhibited outputs in the form of publications, presentations and attendance at external scientific meetings.

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.

Based at Cobra Biologics, Keele you will work directly with supervisors from both the University and Cobra Biologics and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
