Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Aguirre Lab at Michigan State University is searching for Research Associate (postdoctoral position). The Aguirre Lab focuses on investigating the pathways that control development, regeneration and cell fate, with an emphasis on the cardiovascular system. Our final goal is to understand and harness the regenerative power within our own cells and organs for therapy. The primary goal of the successful candidate will be to characterize the role of novel bioactive lipid signaling molecules and pathways in cardiovascular development, stem cell differentiation and regeneration. This will involve work with human iPSCs, transcriptomics, LC-MS-based mass spectrometry, cardiac organoids and animal models such as the mouse and zebrafish. The environment in the Aguirre Lab is highly multidisciplinary and collaborative. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in related secondary projects and collaborations with other IQ labs. The Aguirre Lab is highly committed to the academic and professional development of our trainees.
The Aguirre lab is located in the brand-new Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (IQ) at MSU, and has a strong core of leading scientists working collaboratively across broad disciplines including: neuroengineering, motion analytics, developmental biology, stem cell biology, systems biology, synthetic biology, regenerative medicine, chemical biology and biomedical devices.
MSU provides competitive salary and excellent benefits for the position. This position will be funded for one year with renewal for up to three years based upon funding and performance.
