Postdoctoral Research Assistant - Cardiac Ion Channel Function

Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.

We are seeking a recently qualified postdoctoral researcher with experience in the area of cardiac ion channel function to work on this project funded jointly by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Lab282.

The post is fixed term until 14 August 2020.

If you have a relevant PhD/DPhil in biochemistry, chemistry or biomedicine, or are close to completing, and also have experience in drug discovery or protein purification and structure biology (such as MS, ITC, SPR, protein crystallography) then you may be perfect for this role. In addition, you should also be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the research area, the ability to manage your own research activities, and experience of contributing to publications, presenting research proposals and findings and representing your research at meetings and events.

This role will involve testing hypotheses and analysing data from a variety of sources; contributing ideas for new research proposals; collaborating in the preparation of scientific reports and articles; supporting and advising other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques, and carrying out collaborative projects with colleagues in other institutions and research groups.
