Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital Postdoctoral Positions –Non-Coding RNA/Genome Editing/Brain Tumors/Neurodegeneration
The Krichevsky Lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH)/ Harvard Medical School (HMS)/ Dana-Farber Cancer Center/ Harvard Initiative for RNA Medicine is looking to recruit two postdoctoral fellows interested in the basic biology of regulatory RNA and its translational potential in neurological disorders associated with aging, including malignant brain tumors and Alzheimer’s disease.
Our laboratory is focusing on the 1) diverse regulatory mechanisms of microRNA, lncRNA, enhancer RNA, and other classes of non-coding RNA; 2) development of RNA-targeting strategies and delivery approaches for the brain and CNS, based on oligonucleotides, small molecules, and genome-editing technologies, and 3) extracellular vesicles and extracellular RNA in the cell-to-cell communication in the brain. Our goal is the development of new classes of drugs for currently incurable neurologic diseases (Teplyuk et al. EMBO Mol Med 2016; Wei et al. Nature Communications 2017; El Fatimy et al. Acta Neuropathologica 2018).
One project will use the cutting-edge gene-editing-based technologies for the pre-clinical development of miRNA targeting in glioblastoma brain tumors. Another project will utilize human iPSC neurons and animal models to advance ncRNA-based neuroprotective strategies for Alzheimer’s disease. We are seeking highly motivated and collaborative candidates with a strong background in cancer or neurobiology and a proven academic publication track record.
We consider career development in basic science and translational medicine core to our mission. Our postdoctoral fellows will fully benefit from the deep connections to premier academic labs, hospitals and biotech companies that we have established in the rich Boston biomedical environment. Our salary and benefits package will be highly competitive and commensurate with the cost of living. Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School are Equal Opportunity Employers. Applicants should send a CV, cover letter, and contact information for at least two references to firstname.lastname@example.org with subject line “Postdoctoral Candidate”.
