The laboratory of Jonathan Zippin at Weill Cornell Medicine, United States, is seeking highly motivated and talented postdoctoral research scientists. The primary interest of the lab is understanding how microenvironmental changes such as pH and metabolism play an important role in melanocyte, keratinocyte, and T cell biology. One focus of the lab is the study of non-canonical cAMP signaling pathways in skin disease through which we have revealed new mechanisms that control organelle pH and tumor suppression. We are currently looking for a postdoctoral fellow to investigate these areas of research. We use a variety of cellular and mouse model systems and technologies such as microscopy, high-throughput sequencing techniques, and LC/MS.
Our lab works closely with groups within the Meyer Cancer Center; the Englander Institute of Precision Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine; and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. We are also actively involved in the development of new topical therapeutics for dermatologic diseases through the Tri-Institutional Therapeutics Discovery Institute at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Candidates must possess strong research skills in Cell and Molecular Biology; Microscopy; and be comfortable working with mice. A background in computational biology, LC/MS, and/or live cell imaging is preferred. This position represents an opportunity to join a world-class team at a top-rated medical center.
