Postdoctoral Position in Penn Neuroscience

University of Pennsylvania (PENN)

Philadelphia, United States

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Minghong Ma, Department of Neuroscience, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. We study how the brain uses sensory cues and experience to guide behaviors in the mouse model. Specifically, we aim to provide molecular, cellular and circuit-level understanding of olfactory modulation of brain activity and behavioral output. We use multidisciplinary approaches including ex vivo and in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, chemogenetics, fiber photometry, neural circuit tracing, genetics, and behavior. More information is available at the lab website https://www.med.upenn.edu/minghongmalab/.

Candidates should have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in neuroscience or related fields. Prior experience in electrophysiology and/or in vivo calcium imaging is desired. Salary will follow the NIH guideline with a competitive benefits package. Penn Neuroscience offers a nurturing environment and promotes interdisciplinary collaborations. In addition to trainings in the lab setting, Penn Biomedical Postdoctoral Programs (https://www.med.upenn.edu/postdoc/) offer supplementary trainings in grants writing, teaching, career development, etc.
