A post-doctoral position is available at the Laboratory of Hematology of the University of Liege in Belgium. Our laboratory has 2 research lines: one studying multiple myeloma and one focusing on immune aspects of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
The current project is focused on single cell sequencing in the field of multiple myeloma.
Our myeloma research group is working since 10 years on the interactions between myeloma cells and bone lineage cells (osteoclasts and osteoblasts) and is interested to decipher mechanisms behind disease progression (from precursor disease to symptomatic myeloma). The hematology lab is part of the GIGA (GIGA-R, www.giga.uliege.be).
The project was developed with a major industrial partner (Janssen Pharmaceutics) and funded by the VLAIO institute. Single cell analysis will be realized in collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceutics and the GIGA-Genomics platform.
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a PhD degree with a high interest in cancer research and molecular biology. HE/she should have a background in the field of bioinformatics or in the field of cancer research (eg multiple myeloma) and be familiar with Genetics, RNA sequencing. Fluency in oral and written English and/or French, an independent mind yet with a good team spirit and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential requirements.
