Postdoctoral positions in Aging Biology.
Postdoctoral positions are available in the Gorbunova and Seluanov labs at the Biology Department, University of Rochester. The research projects focus around molecular mechanisms of longevity. We study long-lived animals such as naked mole rat, bats, squirrels and bowhead whales. We also investigate mechanisms of genome and epigenome maintenance during aging and develop strategies to extend lifespan and healthspan. The approaches we use include molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, mouse genetics, genomics and proteomics.
Successful candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or MD), and a track record of productivity with peer-reviewed publications. Postdocs will be mentored by Profs. Gorbunova and Seluanov who are committed to career development of their trainees.
