Postdoctoral Position - Development of a N2O greenhouse gas soil emission measurement system

Job description
N2O is a greenhouse gas with high global warming potential and also involved in ozone depletion. Among the greenhouse gases (GHG), N2O is estimated to contribute up to 6% of radiative forcing at the global scale (12 % in France). Agricultural soils appear to be the main anthropogenic source of this gas. Systems for measuring soil N2O soil fluxes need to continue to be developed.

The person recruited will be responsible for developing an automated and connected multiscale soil N2O emission measurement system that allows unhindered plant growth. This development will make use of the existing system (Vermue et al., 2013 – doi 10.1007/s13593-016-0381-y).

Your missions will be to:
- Formulate the specifications for this equipment by taking into account the UMR’s current facilities, the need for changes expressed by the UMR’s researchers and the state of the art of this type of equipment and equivalent prototypes.
- Develop a system by preparing the purchases required using the budget attributed to this project, by assembling the parts, and installing the automation required for their operation. These different items of equipment will be brought into operation.
