Dr. Evan Glazer Lab is looking for an exceptional Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct studies on the use of targeted therapeutics and immunotherapy in patient derived and mouse models of pancreatic and liver cancer.  Our work uses cell culture, syngenetic models, patient derived models to address hypotheses regarding the complex links between cancer cell death, immune tumor microenvironment, and response/resistant to therapy. 

This Postdoctoral Fellow must think and work independently to design and plan experiments, problem solve, and be technically skilled in typical molecular techniques, with essential expertise in mouse models and cell culture. Patient derived organoids are an essential and unique part of our laboratory. Knowledge of flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, mouse pre-clinical models and surgical survival models are expected. This Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to apply for grants (NIH K, K99/R00, and F32, and other postdoctoral grants) with the mentoring support. Exceptional oral and written skills are required. Fellows must complete first and co-author manuscripts and present findings at local and national meetings. We are looking for an accomplished, organized, efficient, trustworthy, and dynamic personality. The position will be at University of Tennessee Health Science Center (https://uthsc.edu/) in Memphis, TN. Postdoctoral Fellows will be part of the University of Tennessee Postdoctoral Association (http://www.uthsc.edu/PhDA) with the support of the UTHSC Postdoctoral Office (http://www.uthsc.edu/postdoc/).

Qualifications

Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or similar with extensive of experience is required. Multiple lead publications in top scientific journals and presentations at national conferences are required. Postdoctoral Fellows with outstanding basic science experience who seek a translational laboratory are ideal candidates.
