The lab of Dr. Vijayanand at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to undertake research in tumor immunology to understand molecular mechanisms of robust anti-tumor immune response and translate to novel immunotherapeutic strategies utilizing mouse models and patient-derived samples. The candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Ganesan, an oncologist and physician scientist in the Vijayanand Laboratory and assistant adjunct professor in the Department of Pediatrics, University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
•Investigate molecular mechanisms of key cellular players
•Test novel immunotherapy targets
•Apply cutting-edge genomic and immunological tools to generate data, interpret results, create hypotheses and generate novel insights in cancer immunology
•Present and discuss work internally and at immunology conferences
•Publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
•PhD or MD/PhD in immunology
•Previous experience in murine work and in vivo experiments using mouse models is required
•Prior knowledge of cancer biology is desirable
•Ability to independently drive the project
