DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY
BRIGHAM AND WOMEN’S HOSPITAL
HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL
The Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in Boston is seeking a senior post-doctoral fellow seeking transition to independence in the glycoscience field. We have made several fundamental advances in the characterization of skin-resident and tumor-infiltrating T-cells and other immune cells in murine disease models and clinical specimens. We have also characterized several glycostructural moieties relevant to disease pathogenesis. We are now interested in how lineage-dependent glycosylation may modulate immunologic and cell biological processes in various tissues or clinical disorders. Our research utilizes standard glycobiological, immunologic, and molecular biology techniques (FACS, IF/IHC, fluorescence microscopy, lectin and Ab-based WB, cell culture-based assays) as well as novel technologies, such as glycan-directed tandem MS and single cell RNAseq. We work with both human specimens and mouse models of disease.
Highly-motivated candidates with an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Glycobiology, Immunology, and/or Cancer Biology or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should possess strong laboratory, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. The funds available for this position require U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
The BWH Department of Dermatology is located in the Longwood Medical Area, which contains ten major institutions, including research-oriented hospitals, research institutes, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health, providing a rich training environment. Interested candidates should email a brief cover letter indicating their research interests and career goals, CV, and contact information for 3 references to:
