Prof. John R. Engen’s laboratory at Northeastern University in Boston, MA U.S.A. invites applications for Postdoctoral and Staff Scientist positions. We are working in the application of hydrogen deuterium exchange (HDX) mass spectrometry (MS) to important problems in biology, including studies of large complexes, protein folding machinery, binding and allostery, and biopharmaceutical products. Our work is grant-funded, highly collaborative, and offers applicants the flexibility to drive the projects in the direction the sciences takes us. Successful applicants will be highly motivated with a successful track record including first-author publications. A PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or related field and a strong background in protein analysis including advanced knowledge of protein biophysics are required. Prior experience with HDX MS and protein MS is highly desirable. Skills in molecular biology and protein chemistry would be valuable, including experience with membranes and membrane systems, and protein expression and purification. Flexible start dates are possible. Visit the group website at www.hxms.neu.edu for more information and a list of recent publications and research areas.
