The laboratory of Adebowale Adebiyi at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a postdoctoral fellow position with a start date of December 1, 2019.
The candidate will be involved in research projects that use rodent and preclinical pig models to investigate the function and regulation of G-protein-coupled receptors and ion channels in cardiovascular and kidney disease. The candidate should have hands-on experience in ex vivo and in vivo cardiovascular and renal methods and be willing to learn and develop new experimental approaches. Expertise with survival surgery techniques is required.
Useful skills include confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry, blood vessel myography, and experience with transgenic rodent models. Successful candidates must also have excellent organizational and communication skills and will manage projects, perform experiments, analyze data, publish papers, train students, and assist with the preparation and submission of grants.
Ph.D., DVM, or MD degree, and a sincere passion for research are required.
