A postdoc position is available immediately in the laboratory of Regenerative Neural Engineering at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. The successful candidate will conduct research in the neuroscience and neural engineering. Research topics are axon regeneration, mitochondria trafficking, the modulation of neural circuitry, and myelination. The experiences in primary neuronal cell cultures are mandatory. Candidates must hold a PhD and postdoctoral experience in Neuroscience, Biomedical engineering, Molecular medicine, or a related subject.

The Postdoctoral appointee must have recently (within the last eight years) been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D.)
· A recent PhD degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, neuroengineering, or related fields.
· Experiences in one or more of the following areas are desired: primary neuron culture, imaging techniques (epifluorescence, confocal) for either in vitro, and animal models.
This is a full-time position; it will start initially for two year with the possibility of being extended based on performance and sustainable funding availability.
