We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Nguyen Lab combines novel pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, and drug delivery approaches to develop next-generation biomaterials for the treatment of cancer, heart attacks, and other diseases. Current projects are supported by several multi-year NIH and NSF grants. A post-doctoral fellow in our lab will have the opportunity to lead the development of new biomaterials and delivery approaches designed to modulate inflammatory responses in ischemic heart diseases and cancer to halt disease progression.


The ideal candidate/s will:

- Have a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline.

- Be proficient in one of the following areas:

o Protein Engineering

o Drug and/or Nucleic Acid Delivery

- Additional expertise in mammalian cell culture, RT-PCR, western blotting, and nanoparticle characterization would be welcome but is not required.

- Have strong oral and written communication skills.

- Have a growth mindset, enjoy working in a team, and be highly motivated to publish high-impact work.

The Nguyen Lab is located at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC in Marsico Hall in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is the top-ranked pharmacy school in the US, and the Division of Pharmacoengineering and Molecular Pharmaceutics has a unique research focus on drug delivery approaches.
