Postdoctoral Fellow Position – Personalized Omics Profiles in Cancer

Hannes Rost

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

We are seeking applications from motivated post-doctoral fellow to contribute to the analysis multi-omics data of brain cancer patients. The position will be based in the lab of Dr. Rost at the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research at the University of Toronto School of Medicine. The successful candidate will combine next-generation sequencing data with mass spectrometry data to study progression of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a cancer of the brain. The project will involve developing novel approaches to analyze longitudinal multi-modal molecular data based using approaches based on bioinformatics and machine learning. Experience with mass spectrometry data or personalized medicine data is preferred but not required.

The Rost lab is interested in understanding biology on a personalized level and to use next-generation mass spectrometry to analyze proteomic and metabolomic data in high-throughput. The main focus of the lab is on high-throughput techniques in biomolecule identification using next-generation approaches, including data-independent acquisition (DIA or SWATH-MS) and developing novel tools and workflows to be used in the community. We are a young lab developing novel methods in personalized medicine and mass spectrometric.

What we are looking for:

- PhD in biology, bioinformatics, data science, computer science or a related field.

- Programming skills (Python, R, C++, C, etc).

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Effective oral and written communication skills.
