Job title: Post-Doctoral Fellow or Research Scientist
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Discipline: Immunology Research, Cancer Research, Translational Research
Position Type: Full Time
Job Type: Postdoc fellowship or Research Scientist
Salary description: Commensurate to education and experience, competitive benefits
The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow or Research Scientist in the field of transplantation immunology or tumor immunology.
A postdoctoral fellow or Research Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Xiao Chen in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The research in the lab focuses on transplantation immunology with a specific emphasis on the immunobiology of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and the graft-versus-tumor (GVT) response in mouse models. We are particularly interested in how mucosal immunity is dysregulated during intestinal GVHD. Ongoing research uses genetic, nutritional, and pharmacologic approaches to examine how to target nuclear receptors, including retinoic acid receptor and vitamin D receptor, to prevent and/or treat intestinal GVHD without compromising the GVT response. Highly motivated individuals with a Ph.D. and a strong track record of research accomplishments as evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals are encouraged to apply. Individuals with a strong background in mucosal immunology, tumor immunology, or cancer cellular immunotherapy are particularly encouraged to apply.
Ph.D in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidates must be adept at designing and performing experiments and interpreting data. They should also be able to communicate research results, as demonstrated by previous publications and presentations.
Prior experience in transplantation immunology, tumor immunology, or mucosal immunology is preferred. Extensive experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and standard molecular biology techniques is required.
