A fully funded postdoctoral position is available to study neurodegenerative disease mechanisms and genomic therapies in the laboratory of Dr. Rick Proia (Twitter: @ProiaLab), Genetics and Biochemistry Branch of the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DIABETES AND DIGESTIVE AND KIDNEY DISEASES in Bethesda, Maryland. The Proia laboratory uses genetic approaches in mouse and human systems to understand the role of lipid metabolism in rare and common neurodegenerative diseases, and to devise novel approaches for their treatment. Requirements: Applicants must have an M.D. or a Ph.D degree, less than five years of postdoctoral experience, strong background in cellular and molecular biology, and a previous track record of successful research. Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
