A postdoctoral position is available in NIH-funded research project for a talented, motivated, and hardworking postdoctoral fellow to investigate the metabolic and molecular mechanisms of neuroinflammation. The project(s) will focus on developing and utilizing neuronal cell models derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and preclinical rodent models. The successful candidate will have a strong background in stem cell biology, molecular biology and immunology to develop and optimize neuronal cell differentiation protocols for application to several disease models.

Specific experience with iPSC maintenance and differentiation towards neuronal cell lineages is highly desirable.

  • Optimize and apply procedures for the differentiation of iPSC-derived neuronal cell lineages Establish assays for the quantitative analysis of iPSC-derived neuronal cell lineages.
  • Establish design and execute high-throughput and metabolic flux assays.
  • Perform routine cell culture work to support ongoing projects including maintenance and directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells.
  • Significant experience in standard laboratory techniques flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, PCR, western blots, tissue culture, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and protocols.
  • Communicate in written and oral form with a multidisciplinary team.
