The research in my laboratory broadly focuses on the pathophysiology of prion protein and α-Synuclein in the eye and the brain. Additional interests include pathogenic mechanisms underlying iron disorders of the brain and the eye.
A variety of experimental systems are used to explore these questions, including primary and transformed cell lines, transgenic mice, and human and bovine eyes. The projects involve techniques including gene cloning, qPCR, cell culture, transfection, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, and in vivo functional analysis and imaging of the mouse eye including ERG and OCT. A list of publications from the lab is available at
The search is primarily directed at scientists who have recently completed their PhD with first author publications. Qualified candidates are requested to send their CV and a brief statement of interest to neena.singh@case.edu
