Slava Epstein’s lab at Northeastern University in Boston, MA U.S.A., is inviting applications for a postdoctoral and technician positions. Supported by synergistic grants from DARPA and NSF, we are building a strong and dynamic team to tackle some of the most fundamental challenges in microbial biology. The team will develop a fundamentally novel cultivation platform to access novel species from the list on uncultivated taxa, and aim to resolve the nature of microbial “dark matter”. The challenging nature of the projects will require imagination, creativity and large degree of independence. The projects offer outstanding opportunities for field work world-wide. The successful candidates will have strong and proven record in growing and isolating difficult to cultivate microbes and experience with basic molecular biology techniques. PhD and BS/MS in microbiology and related fields are required for the postdoctoral a technician positions, respectively. Both positions are initially for two years and come with competitive packages.
Please send your CV, one-page research statement and names of three prospective references to Slava Epstein at firstname.lastname@example.org.
