The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the field of transplantation immunology.
An NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship is available in the laboratory of Dr. William Drobyski in the Departments of Medicine and Microbiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin that is focused on transplantation immunology with a specific emphasis on the immunobiology of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation and the pathophysiology of graft versus host disease (GVHD).
Specific areas of interest in include inflammatory cytokine networks that contribute to GVHD, inflammatory cytokine signaling and regulatory pathways that impact the development of tolerance, modulate anti-leukemic responses, and induce pathological damage particularly within the gastrointestinal tract using genetically modified mouse models, flow cytometry, q-PCR, RNA-seq, western blot, single cell RNA analysis, and other immunological techniques. Recent publications include Journal of Clinical Investigation 2016; 126: 3541-3555, Blood 2016; 128: 2068-2082, Blood 2018; 132: 435-447, JCI Insight 2017; 2(14), and Frontiers in Immunology 2019; 10:163. Highly motivated individuals with a recent PhD. or equivalent, a strong track record of research as evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals, and excellent communication skills are encouraged to apply.
Ph.D in Immunology, Microbiology or related field. Necessary research skills include immunology, molecular and cellular biology techniques. Candidates must be adept at designing and performing experiments and interpreting data. They should also be able to communicate research results, as demonstrated by previous publications and presentations. Eligible to work in the United States.
Prior experience in immunology, including mouse models, flow cytometry and/or molecular biology are preferred.
