Postdoc/Research Associate positions in Genome editing:

A Postdoctoral fellow and a research associate position are available in Dr. Bhanu Telugu’s laboratory (http://ansc.umd.edu/people/bhanu-telugu) at the University of Maryland in College Park. 

A major focus of the NIH and Gates Foundation funded projects is to generate genome edited animals for agricultural/ biomedical applications. Successful candidates will receive advance training in somatic and embryonic CRISPR/Cas genome editing, stem cell biology, and in generating genome edited animals.

 

Postdoctoral fellow qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. (Postdoctoral fellow) in Reproductive Biology, Genetics, Animal Science, or related disciplines. Experience/proficiency in basic molecular biology and cell culture skills is required. Although not required, experience or a strong interest in embryo culture, embryo injections and embryo transfers is preferred. The candidates are expected to be highly motivated, have critical thinking abilities, and work as part of a team.

 

Research Associate qualifications:

Candidates must have a M.S. in Biology, Genetics, Animal Science, or related disciplines. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree will also be considered. Experience/proficiency in basic molecular biology and cell culture skills is required. The candidates are expected to be highly motivated, have critical thinking abilities, and work as part of a team.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Competitive Salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidates. Salary for the positions is commensurate with experience and number of years since completing the higher level of education. The positions are open until filled.
