Job description:

As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.


The lab is located at the newly built institute for Lung Biology and Disease (iLBD), Comprehensive Pneumology Center, and provides a creative and interdisciplinary environment.

Your mission

The laboratory of Yuval Rinkevich PhD is looking for a motivated individual wishing to identify fundamental cellular and molecular principles of tissue/organ regeneration, and develop a knowledge basis for therapeutic strategies in clinical use.
You will explore how tissues/organs regenerate following injury and at multiple levels of biological organization, from the level of whole organisms to the level of single cells.
What underlies the basis for the diversities of regeneration outcomes between different developmental stages and different organs and organ surfaces?

Your qualifications


Interested candidates should ideally have a background (PhD) in either:
