One fully funded postdoc position is available in Prof. Michal Hocek group starting from January 2020 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The candidate will join an international multidisciplinary team of the Joint Laboratory of Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry of Nucleic Acids of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB Prague), Czech Academy of Sciences and the Charles University in Prague. The project will involve the design and synthesis of modified nucleic acids and the development of new modified aptamers. The position is available for a period of 2 years.
The applicant should hold a Ph.D. (in bioorganic chemistry or biochemistry) for less than 6 years and should have a well-established experience in bioorganic or biomolecular chemistry, chemical biology or biochemistry. Experience with nucleic acids research and/or aptamer selection is an advantage. The candidate is required to have the ability to independently work on their research project, as well as to have good proficiency in spoken and written English.
