A postdoctoral research position is available for highly motivated graduate students and researchers to join a productive research group working on the Metabolic Brain through which (a)Incretins, (b)Rare Sugar and ©Herbal medicine exert outstanding physiologic and therapeutic effects. (a) Clarifying the pathways of GLP-1, GIP and the combination for controlling appetite and metabolism, with particular focus on vagal afferent and central neurons. (b) Clarifying multiple beneficial effects and underlying mechanisms of a Rare Sugar, D-Allulose. © Exploring the substances, includingHerbal Medicine, to ameliorate anorexia.Via these researches, we aim to find out effective and safe means to counteract Obesity, type-2 Diabetes, Dementia and Frailty. We have tight collaboration with several distinguished institutes, universities and hospitals for basic and clinical studies. The ideal candidate should hold an MD or PhD, and have a strong background in behavioral studies, patch clamp, Ca2+imaging, and/or molecular biology. The candidate should also be able to handle English and/or Japanese and work cooperatively with peers. Start date is flexible but desirably as soon as possible.
